Self Evaluation

I chose this video for this task because finding a convenient video is difficult.I like watching film so I tried to combine my hobby with this task and I chose this scene from a film I love.As for video task,I really enjoyed preparing it because sharing one of my pleasures for a task is good to me.Nevertheless,I didn't learn so much thing except for a few new words and it was a listening practice for me.I hope my friends can find new things about it.

Person Of The Year

My candidate for the person of the year is Daniel Day Lewis. He is an English actor who was born in 1957.His real name is Daniel Michael Blake Day-Lewis.He is one of my favourite actor and I really love his acting

I chose him because I believe that he has a different style and ability from others in acting.People, usually don't know him with his real face.We know him from movies and he plays his characters so succsessfully that you couldn't think that he is Daniel and you just focus on character.I think this ability makes him different from other actors.Morever,he can play very different and difficult roles easily. Also,he didn't play very famous films but this is his choice. For example,he rejected Aragorn in The Lord Of  The Rings because he doesn't want to be remembered with just one character by the people.Furthermore,he won three academy awards as best actor with roles in ''My Left Foot'',''There Will Be Blood'' and ''Abraham Lincoln'' also has two nominations. He is only male actor in history to garner three wins in the lead actor category.Actally, most of the community thinks that he must have been rewarded with another oscar for his performance in ''Gangs Of New York''

"Since we got married 16 years ago, my wife Rebecca has lived with some very strange men," Day-Lewis said, referencing his previous eclectic roles. "But luckily she's the versatile one in the family and she's been the perfect companion for all of them."

                                                        Reflection Task 2B

I want to share a video which is compilation of scenes saved by russian dash cams.Actually, this is a famous video and whenever I watch it makes me happier and gives me hope for everything. While you are watching, you can feel like filled up with love.

I didn't choose this video because I am a sensitive person. If I were one of these people in the video, maybe I wouldn't help the people.Yet,this video show me that little things or details such as helping the old cross the road, physically disabled people or animals are actually evidence of that the people still have humanistic emotions inside them.In this century, these emotions have more meaning and importance than past.people always need to each other and helping to others just don't make them better also yourself feel one of the best kinds of happiness. While watching this video if you smile or it tears your heart out,you have power to be good person.Don't lose it and don't hesitate to help.

                                                          Reflection task 2a

I want to mention about a filmmaking movement. It's Dogme 95 and started in 1995 by the danish directors Lars Von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg.I like this movement and films which dogme 95 includes.First, these directors created ''Dogme 95 manifesto '' and ''Vow of Chasity'' which are the rules of the movement. The goal of Dogme 95 is to purify the filmmaking by refusing expensive and spectecular special effects, post production modifiactions and other technical tricks.Directors mostly concentrate on the story and actors' performances.Lars Von Trier and Thomas Vinterburg produced ten rules to which any dogma film must conform. These rules:

1.Shooting must be done out of studio.
2.The sound must never be produced apart from the images or vice versa.
3.The camera must be hand-held.
4.The film must be in colour.Special lighting is not acceptable.
5.Optical work and filters are forbidden.
6.The film musn't contain superficial action.(murders,weapons etc.)
7.The film takes place here and now.
8.Genre movies are not acceptable.
9.The flm format must be Acedemy 35mm.
10.The director must not be credited.

I think that these rules make movies so realistic that you can feel yourself as one of the movie's characters. On the other hand, these rules may cause the production of very stagnant films and people don't like this kind of films may find them boring.Lastly,I can recommend ''Breaking The Waves'' by Lars Von Trier and ''The Celebration'' by Thomas Vinterburg.
