                                                          Reflection task 2a

I want to mention about a filmmaking movement. It's Dogme 95 and started in 1995 by the danish directors Lars Von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg.I like this movement and films which dogme 95 includes.First, these directors created ''Dogme 95 manifesto '' and ''Vow of Chasity'' which are the rules of the movement. The goal of Dogme 95 is to purify the filmmaking by refusing expensive and spectecular special effects, post production modifiactions and other technical tricks.Directors mostly concentrate on the story and actors' performances.Lars Von Trier and Thomas Vinterburg produced ten rules to which any dogma film must conform. These rules:

1.Shooting must be done out of studio.
2.The sound must never be produced apart from the images or vice versa.
3.The camera must be hand-held.
4.The film must be in colour.Special lighting is not acceptable.
5.Optical work and filters are forbidden.
6.The film musn't contain superficial action.(murders,weapons etc.)
7.The film takes place here and now.
8.Genre movies are not acceptable.
9.The flm format must be Acedemy 35mm.
10.The director must not be credited.

I think that these rules make movies so realistic that you can feel yourself as one of the movie's characters. On the other hand, these rules may cause the production of very stagnant films and people don't like this kind of films may find them boring.Lastly,I can recommend ''Breaking The Waves'' by Lars Von Trier and ''The Celebration'' by Thomas Vinterburg.
